Classic F1 races from the BBC – Singapore Grand Prix weekend

This is a post that will be updated each Grand Prix weekend telling you about the latest classic F1 races the BBC are screening both on your red button and on their website.

Part of this years BBC coverage involves them digging out races from their extensive archive and this weekend is no exception. The format usually involves voting on the Andrew Benson blog on the BBC. Here you can post which race you would like to see shown in full (well the full BBC highlights programme actually not the entire race sadly). The ‘losing’ races are usually shown as well but these are cut down to around 5-10 minute highlights.

This week voting has been taking place for the Singapore classic races, but wait – Singapore has only had one race before hasn’t it? You are correct, and this weekend sees a slightly different format employed by Mr. Benson. The voters were given a choice of races from circuits that are no longer used for F1 racing which has proved to throw up a very interesting selection. I have provided links below to these races as I cannot embed them on Grand Prix Blogger due to copyright law. I hope you enjoy them and be sure to check the Andrew Benson blog about a week before each Grand Prix weekend and register your vote for the classic race you would like to see in full.

The full race can be seen on your red button both on satellite television and Freeview. (Please be aware that due to bandwidth issues the classic races are often only available for a short time on Freeview, they should be available continuously from a Wednesday night to a Saturday night on satellite television such as SKY).
